Privacy Policy
Last updated: 21 October 2026
Noplr is built to collect as little as possible. This page says what we keep, why, for how long, and who can see it.
What we collect
- Handle and optional display name. We never ask for your legal name and there is no verified-identity badge.
- Email address. Used only for sign-in, account recovery and notifications. It is never shown to other users and never exposed through the site.
- Password. Stored only as a salted hash, never in readable form.
- Age confirmation. We record that you confirmed you are 16 or older, not your birth date.
- What you post. Posts, comments, reactions, group memberships and the settings you choose, such as language, time zone and theme.
- Technical logs. Request logs and IP addresses, kept for abuse handling.
We do not collect phone numbers or location unless you type them into your profile.
What we do not do
- No advertising and no ad targeting.
- No third-party analytics, trackers, social login buttons, embedded widgets, or externally hosted fonts and scripts.
- No selling or renting of your data.
- Usage numbers come only from first-party aggregate counts.
How long we keep things
- IP addresses and request logs: 60 days, then deleted.
- Content you delete: kept hidden for 60 days so moderators can review reports, then removed.
- Emailed verification and reset links: they expire quickly and are cleaned up after a week.
- If you delete your account: after the grace period your email, password hash and profile are erased. Posts and comments are either deleted or kept under "Deleted user", as you choose. Your old handle stays reserved for a period so nobody can pose as you.
Who can see your data
- Other users see your handle, display name, and what you post, according to each group's visibility.
- Group staff see their group's content, member list and audit log for their group.
- Site staff can see reported content. Every time staff read private content because it was reported, it is written to an audit log.
- Direct messages, when they are available, are not end-to-end encrypted. Site staff can read a message only after it has been reported.
We may disclose data when the law requires it, including reporting apparent child sexual abuse material to the authorities as the law requires.
Your choices
- Download your data from your account page.
- Delete your account from your account page, with a grace period in which you can cancel.
- Correct your details by changing your profile and settings.
- For any other request about your data, use the contact page.
Cookies
We use only the cookies the site needs to work. See the cookie notice.
Children
The site is not for anyone under 16. If we learn that an account belongs to someone younger, we close it.
Changes
If this policy changes we update the date above and, for significant changes, tell signed-in users before they apply.
